Extended Profile
Maroondah Hospital Patient Library Book Service.
Originally run by the Red Cross, then the hospital Auxillary, we supply books to patients in our 309-bed, community based hospital.
We are located in Ringwood East in the Outer Eastern Metropolitan area of Melbourne, and serve the Maroondah and surrounding areas.
Maroondah Hospital, with its affiliations with Monash, Deakin, La Trobe and Melbourne Universities for students in Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health and Pharmacy, is a teaching and training hospital.
Our Library Book Trolley service is run by volunteers for patients within all wards, stocked from books generously donated by staff, students, patients and members of the public.
Books registered with BookCrossing will be controlled releases to our trolley for distribution, and perhaps we'll even drop a few extra books in the waiting areas !
