Extended Profile
I've loved and enjoyed books for as long as I can remember. When I was living in Chingola, a wee little village in Zambia (thats in central Africa btw) we used to order in books from those gorgeous Penguin/Puffin leaflets. Receiving the parcels was like
Christmas. Each one contained treasures for a child who couldn't get enough of books.
Unfortunately I was not blessed with parents who encouraged me to read. They thought it a huge waste of time and money... and when I was 13 and came home with a trunk full of books from boarding school in England, my parents made me burn my books.
I didn't speak to them for a year (admittedly this was made easier by the simple fact that for most of that year, I was in boarding school!)
They learned, and while they may still grumble about my spending habits, they know better to interfere.
I enjoy reading most things, with a taste for fantasy, science fiction, cooking, comedy, crafts, art, technical, romance and biographies.
I also believe a book is still a book even if it is of graphical nature.
Still relatively new to Book Crossing, but I hope I can get involved, share and enjoy with other members here in Auckland, New Zealand, and over seas.
Interesting stats:
First Book Releases occured on: Sunday the 30th of November 2008 - 2 wild releases and 1 controlled.
First Release caught occured on: Sunday the 30th of November 2008 - 1 wild release.
