Go to www.biogaphy.com to search for author infomation. I knew this book takes place from the United States to South Vietnam and then to North Vietnam. I also knew that the author's brother (Thomas Wayne "Sonny" Myers) was killed in Vietnam and people believe that North Vietnam and South Vietnam were in chahoots, but Actually the South Vietnamese allies with the United States for help and the United States helped South Vietnam to get rid of the communist North Vietnam. I going to finish this book and encourage to other readers. Do you like the South Vietnamese or not?? I didn't really meant the thing earlier!! I'm very sorry!!!!!!!!!!! It's just that people are just judging by other ecthincy

I am a Litarary Lumanary. One caption that I was interested in was on page 11 and 12 at the beginning of the book. It says, "Peewee turned and looked as if he were going to put his feet on the floor. Instead he shot both legs into the rangers crotch. The big man doubled over, and Peewee punched him on the side of the head. Then he laid back and pulled a knife, and said, "Now you can get up if you want, but if you do, im going to cut your danm throat soons you go to sleep."" I picked this because it shows what kind of person peewee (one of the main charecters) is like. By Melanie Alderette

What were your feelings while you read the first two chapters of this book? I felt kind of confused, because the author is switching to different characters a lot. The author kept on switching to different locations also.

If you could ask the author any questions what would they be? If I could ask the author any questions I would ask him why he chose to write about the vietnam war.

in the last two chapters i read it sounds like the auther really likes to write because he gets really into it, not so much carryed away, but really into it.
And since i started the book it makes most sence to me that the charecters have been in vietnam for about a week. since the begining of the book to now they have been in several different places.

the auther sounded real excited and i do like that i like that he can get carried away. he writes reall spacific about where and how long the charecters have been there.

What was your favorite part of the book in chapter3?

This book is very interesting. It is a wonderful book so far and the part of the book that I liked was when Jenkins died. I liked it this part, because it felt so realistic, it was a very emotional part of the book. pg 41.:
There was a shard of metal protruding from Jenkins' chest. The blood gurgled out of the wound it made and sprayed along the concave metallic surface. He tried to bring his hand to touch it. A medic had reached and pushed his hand away. Jenkins' face was white and twisted as he struggled to look down at the wound. Then there were bubbles on the wound as he struggled for a final breath, and then that, too, stopped.

I'm a investigator and this is my information: I have learned that this platoon has not yet passed the DMZ line. Laos and Cambodia is a very good route for the North Vietnamese to use for traveling to South Vietnam. Laos is a small country to the west oif Vietnam and Cambodia is to the Northwest. I also learned that Perry is from New York and Walowick is from Knox.

My response to this is that finally the North Vietnamese is using their brain for once. I mean the that the North Vietnamese has been ruthless and they have been sending person after person to fight the Allied Forces.

They went on patrol on a hill when they found a spider, one of them fired inside the hole and it was empty. Then the whole hill began to fill up with bullets and then one of the bullets hit Perry on the wrist and he also had a concussion of the mortar blast. The same mortar that almost hit Perry killed Brew and it tore up his flesh.

This week I am the literary luminary. My favorite part of the book was when Perry got injured when all of the Vietnamese were shooting at them. Pg. 204-I could get one eye open. I saw Gearheart backing down the hill. He was firing the grenade launcher and looking around. I felt somebody grab me by the collar. I couldn't turn around. my leg twisted under me and there was pain. But more than the pain in my leg, more than my wrist dangling in front of me, was the thought that I was going to die. I was going to die.
