Shutter Island

Got this in the post today from a UK bookmoocher.
I've seen people 'complain' about this book/film because it's so obvious - apparently. I watched the film at the start of this year and I just got sucked completely into the plot. And I wanted to either read the book or watch the film again, because with things like this, second time around it's like seeing a different story. The book is good. It's such a smoothly running thriller, and it works, first or second time around. And even just thinking about the whole mental asylum aspect is interesting.
It's set in the 50s, and is about a US marshall called out to Shutter Island, where there's a mental asylum for the criminally insane. A female inmate has managed to escape, and it's his job to track her down.
