Abridged on 4 cassettes.
I'd love to save this for the 11/11/11 challenge, but I just can't think of a good place to wild release audiobooks on cassette. So I'll probably listen to this and then try to find a new home for it.

I don't know if I would have gotten around to actually reading this, but this abridged audio version worked out fine. I'm not a huge bullfighting fan but the stories of Norman Clay's forebears were quite interesting.

Being a fan of historical fiction, I like James Michener's stories. This one was good but not one of Michener's best. There were very interesting parts as Michener tells the story of an American journalist who travels to Mexico to cover the story between two rival bullfighters and to study his own family history. In his search for his roots, he discovers an Indian Queen, a conquistador priest and a Confederate expatriate in his tree. This tale unfolds Mexico's dramatic and brutal history. Mexico is worth listening to, but do explore Michener's other works for a better example of his storytelling.
I'm putting this one in my "Cassettes Are Still Alive" bookbox. Happy Travels!
