Fortune's Rocks: A Novel

The blurb on the back of the book uses the adjectives "rich" and "compelling". I have to agree. This is one of Shreve's best books. It has it all - passion, scandal, betrayal, romance, deceit, honor, retribution. And some great scenery thrown in. It also gives some great insight into the strain of being a young woman at the turn of the nineteenth to the twentieth century.
