Abandoned Prayers: The Shocking True Story of Obsession, Murder, and Little Boy Blue

Pretty typical of the true crime novel - it's informative, but not flowing in the literary sense. Author Gregg Olsen has done considerable research and shared it through his book as he exams the murder of a young Amish boy and the father who killed him.
Warning - it does get clinically graphic as it describes some events. Nothing sensationalized, but detailed.

My 14 year old daughter found the book, don't remember exactly where. I thumbed through it and started reading it. It wasn't easy for me to get into it at first. I am very sensitive to abuse of children. I basically thought the book well
written and factual. It is amazing to think that
there are probably a lot of people out there who
have deep emotional problems that trigger acts
of abuse and violence to innocent others. It is
amazing the "normal" facade they are able to
project thereby luring their victims until it is too
late. I wonder how many others this man killed.
I hope he was punished adequately.
