A long and fatal love chase was an interesting book. I have read little women by alcott and found it full of wonderful strong females that were able to accomplish so much in a male dominated world. A friend gave it to me for my birthday and I wasn’t sure whether I would enjoy it. Yet I found the main character full of strength and spirit and desperate need to be liberty that she would fight for it with all the weapons she could get her hands on. As rosemund went from a young woman cut off from the world by a unfeeling grandfather to a “married” woman who never surrendered to anyone else’s wishes. She is chased mercilessly by her “husband” who goes to unimaginable lengths to be a master over her because of his love for her. I would recommend this book for young women because there is much to learn about the human spirit and the ability to overcome odds set against you. I will not write down the climatic conclusion so that it will be an interesting tale to read. It is true that the caged bird does not sing!
