Enjoyed the book, my first read by Ms. Gaffney.

Here's the blurb:

Anna has studiously avoided her aunt Rose -- the woman she once loved more than anyone else in the world -- ever since the night Rose betrayed Anna and her mother, Rose's own fatally ill sister. In the sixteen years that have passed, Anna has built another life for herself far from her hometown on Maryland's Eastern Shore, but she can't forgive or forget.

Now another betrayal, by a faithless lover, has brought Anna back to her family's restaurant, where Rose needs her estranged niece's help -- and trust -- more than ever before. Determined to leave as soon as the struggling business is back on its feet and her own hurt is healed, Anna joins Rose in the kitchen of the Bella Sorella, where values clash and generations collide -- and outside, where their personal lives become entangled in surprising ways. Yet Anna is resolved to remain unaffected by Rose's longing to undo the past -- even though her resistance could blind her to a true and unexpected love that's reaching out to grab her by the heart.

To trade or RABCK.

Received this book today from Wandeca in Canada. Thank you! I enjoyed Saving Graces, and expect Flight Lessons will be good as well. Will eventually read and release.

This was an enjoyable story, already described in the first journal entry above. It was quick to read. Sometimes I thought the main character, Anna, acted like an adolescent too much, but she was still likable. Her love interest, Mason, wasn't very well-developed as a character; she seems to specialize in women's relationships. I plan to leave this at our Charleston OBCZ this week.

7/20/04 This book was released this afternoon at the OBCZ.

Took me a while to get to journal it. My TBR pile is high. A quick, pleasant summer read. The view of life in the keitchen of a biggish resstaurant was interesting. And now to bookczek to release for me.

Released 19 yrs ago (9/30/2004 UTC) at Li'l Cricket Gas @ St Andrews & Colony/Riverdale in Charleston, South Carolina USA

That anonymous finder note before my release note was me. The worst thing is, I can't correct all my typos!

Bookczuk put a picture up of where she released the book for me, which is still in the wild....
