Written with humour, tenderness and passion, Dragonfly in Amber is a superb novel which takes up the story from Cross Stitch...
This was another entertaining piece of historical fiction. Gabaldon has a great way of bringing some humour and steamy love scences into her books, which really helps to move the story along. I am moving on the next book in the series straight away, because I am now well and truly hooked and just HAVE to find out what happens next in the lives of Claire and Jamie.
Have always meant to try out some Diana Gabaldon, but never got around to it. But will have to track down Cross Stitch before I do, so may have to hang onto this for a while!
Trivial escapist rubbish! But despite the bizarre situations that Claire and Jamie manage to get themselves into, and despite the fact that they don't ever seem to realise that their attempts to change history have probably made happen the events they wanted to avoid, I still found myself wanting to read what happened next. I did think there were a few too many steamy scenes, but then I was never much into the romance genre. Will try to take this and Voyager to the convention with me, although given their size, if I'm over my weight limit they'll be the first to be tossed out, probably at the Chch airport!
