I read about one third of this book and then I gave up. I'm not quite sure as I think it is beautifully written, full of excellent characterisation, historical detail and scholarship. For some reason I came to understand that the subject simply did not interest me. ....so I am passing it on and hope the next reader will really enjoy it as it deserves.

Loved this book!. the Tudor period has been highlighted recently with the Tudors on TV, and this book puts a new voice on one of the major players, Thomas Cromwell.
