Whenever we go to visit my in-laws I indulge in reading lots and lots of mysteries. My mother-in-law turned me onto the author J.A. Jance,winner of the American Mystery Award. This is from the Dectective J.P. Beaumont's series. Her mysteries take place in the Seattle Washington area. This book is the 12th in the series. Beaumont investigates the brutal murder of an old high school friend. It's fun to read about places that you are familiar with.
