Underboss: Sammy the Bull Gravano's Story of Life in the Mafia

The Sopranos in real life.
I was very interested in the mafia a few years back when Goodfellas, Casino and all Marty's other mob films caught my eye. I never picked up this book even though I followed the hype surrounding it when it was released. I wondered what would make a guy seek witness protection and then go spilling his story and showing his new face to the media? When I saw this book in Mr. Toad's I figured it was time to find out...
I never cared about John Gotti, but wondered what would make a member of Cosa Nostra turn on the big boss. The first 3/4 of the book which told the story of Sammy's rise in the organization was really interesting. The final portion about Gotti and his legal woes wasn't as good, probably because I never saw him as The Dapper Don, but as a criminal who got what he deserved.
Sammy's story is very similar to Henry Hill's life as depicted in the film Goodfellas.
I will release this for the October "What's My Name?" challenge.
