Several more boxes of books heading for the Phoenix Book Sale were dropped off at my house today. LaBarbe decided to purchase this one for his TBR shelves.

This is the first book by Anne Tyler that I have read; I think it's because someone once told me her books were boring with no real action in them. I loved this one, narrated in the first person by Barnaby it's a beautiful character sketch of some ordinary everyday people caught up in personal, family dramas. I'm no spring chicken myself, so the description of the loneliness and weaknesses of the elderly people who were his clients was a bit frightening. I certainly hope there will be a 'Barnaby' around if I ever reach that pitiful stage of life.
