Temple of the Winds is the fourth Sword of Truth novel, continuing the adventures of the many people we've come to know and love over the course of the last twenty-five-hundred-odd pages of the series. While the main drawback of Blood of the Fold (the constant retelling of previous events, as if Goodkind expects people to read this one who haven't read the first three) remains, the book is larger enough that it becomes no more than an annoying background buzz, and it detracts far less from what's going on this time around. This time, the ratio of buzz to action is greatly diminished, leading to a far more satisfying reading experience than in the last novel. And much does happen (all of which contains major plot spoilers for those who haven't read the first three novels).

If you haven't started the Sword of Truth novels yet, what are you waiting for? It's a big investment to make, but at least this far in, Goodkind has yet to bungle the payoffs, and they keep getting better

i got this book a week or so ago , from roxy , via www.ivyco.com/opendb. it's just a great book, one you can't forget easily, much , much beyond my expectations. even tough there are some passages i wasn't especially keen on (such as the long love-rimmed dialogue, fun for the romance-type, but not me, sorry!)the plot was extraordinary.
richard rahl finds himself confronted with a girl that insists she is to marry him and a brother he didn't know he had, and that just before he is planning to wed kahlan. the emperor jagang traps richard in a prophecy that leaves him no alternative but death of all or death to himself...and adds, as a push-on, a plague that will kill every leaving soul if richard doesn't act soon enough.since his magic is still beyond his understanding, richard hopelesslly tries to once again make the impossible, possible...even if that means betrayal and death to himself...
as i said, a very good plot and nicely told, too!!
the book is going now back to the library and i hope will soon find other readers!
