A mid-series novel about China Bayles, criminal-lawyer-turned-herbalist. This one is set in a dying small town in TExas, and takes in as much material about the perils to the land of strip-mining and the mechanics and possibilities of natural dyes as it does mystery. Two people stand out as potential suspects (you simply know none of the regulars will be involved), and when one of them dies, the mystery really ends. But still, it's a good, quick read, perfect for the train. Which is why I shall leave it there!
