I love this author and I really wanted to like this story - Field of Blood - where Judas hung himself and his blood seeped deep into the earth into burial caves below. But I had a very hard time trying to keep up with all the different story lines and the myriad of undeveloped characters. And I'm still trying to figure out if this was the beginning of vampires... I feel this would have been a much better book if the author had taken more time to tie all the loose ends together, maybe explain what Collectors and Nistarim were so I wouldn't have needed to find a dictionary. I really felt as though the author had so much he wanted to tell, but wanted to keep it under 400 pages so he had to leave out a lot of vital information. I doubt I'll continue the series. I'll release soon. Maybe it will find a more appreciative audience.
