This book is self written account of sgt Dan Mills, leader of a sniper platoon, of the summer of 2004 the platoon he spent in Iraq, specifically SE Iraq in the Al Amarah area. Didn't know at the time, but the is (or was? think he retired) a british soldier, with the Princess of Wale's Royal Regiment. The brits only do six month tours in Iraq. Not really sure what to say about this book. The author is definenty very pround of being in the army and serving the queen etc. On the other hand he's very candid in saying Al Amarah is a &*() hole, and that it probably always will be, and in pointing out the flaws as he sees them in trying to fix Iraq.
