Equal Music

Wonderful book. I had a hard time at the beginning cause I kept imagining Indian characters and while his previous book was so "Indian" ("A suitable boy", which I really liked) this one is really... maybe not "English", but at least "Occidental". But after a while I completely forgot the previous one and really got into that one. So different! It always impresses me when someone can write things so different. So I really really enjoyed it even if I'm pretty sure I missed half of it cause I don't know that much about classical music (especially Bach).
It will now leave (probably tomorrow) for Kingston, to be read by From-the-coast.

It left the Montreal's post office today.
I just received this by post from folia..and can't wait to read it. Thanks so much! Will post a journal entry once I've read the book.
This was an interesting read. It wasn't one of those hard-to-put-down sort of reads, but it was rich in music and passions. I liked how the author focused on the emotional ups and downs of the musicians, their lives, and how he describes life within a maggiore quartet. A recommended read for music lovers.
