Bluenoser lent me me her copy of Emotional Geology last month, thank you very much, and I loved it so much I knew I had to get a copy for my own Permanent Collection. Thank you very much, LindaG, for signing it for me! Although it's mine to keep, I have every intention of lending it out to family and friends so I'm registering it to keep track of where it is, plus it might encourage other readers to journal their comments. I hope so!

From the back cover: "Rose Leonard is on the run from her life.
"Taking refuge in a remote island community, she cocoons herself in work, silence and solitude in a house by the sea. But she is haunted by her past, by memories and desires she'd hoped were long dead.
"Rose must decide whether she has in fact chosen a new life or just a different kind of death. Life and love are offered by new friends, her lonely daughter, and most of all Calum, a fragile younger man who has his own demons to exorcise.
"But does Rose, with her tenuous hold on life and sanity, have the courage to say yes to life and put her past behind her?"

My previous journal entry reads: "That was beautiful: a beautiful story, beautifully told about some beautiful people living on a beautiful island ... What more can I say?"

My friend,Nu-Knees, who has been raving about book crossing for ages, lent me this book. She has it signed by the author and a matching bookmark!
I loved this book, especially the pictures she paints of the landscape where the book is set. The main character, Rose, really got on my nerves, she was so self centred; however the main man, callum was gorgeous - too good for her! I would have liked more about the climbing, that was really good and the daughter was nearly as annoying as the mother.
i will definitely read more books by Linda Gillard as I really enjoyed this.

On loan for holiday reading to my next door neighbour who (occasionally) BookCrosses as blower

Journal Entry 6 by Blower from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Saturday, June 20, 2009
I have just been reminded by Nu-Knees that I still hadn't submitted my JE on this great book. I am going on holiday to Scotland and will be visiting the area this book is set in so no time like the present!

This was a very descriptive and expressive novel. It could even have been autobiographical as it showed such emotion. I really enjoyed this book and felt very honoured to be reading a copy signed by the author herself.

I have suggeted this author to other friends and would love to read others by her.

Thank you for the journal entry, blower. I hope you have a wonderful holiday around the beautiful island of Skye and Ullapool.
And thank you also for the safe return of the book last month. I've since lent it to, and had it back from, a non-BookCrossing friend (JR) who absolutely loved it, everything about it, the setting, the characters, the story, everything. She said she was reading some of the bits about Skye out to her mountain-loving husband.

Released 11 yrs ago (5/7/2013 UTC) at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I've decided that I can finally bear to part with this, so it's carrying Get Well Wishes to my poorly friend, GDP!

Over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 well over 9 million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!
Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't cost anything and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!

Oh dear, I was very disappointed to get home from a lovely week in the Cotswolds to find this book behind the front door, marked "Sorry, not at this address - please return to sender". Will have to find another way to get it to my friend from the Library Reading Group!

28.5.13 Have made a second attempt to deliver it - but that also ended in failure!
But I was successful eventually :-)
