This book is based on a true story. Grace has lived in extreme hardship all her life and at age 15, she goes to work as the servant of Thomas Kinnear and his "housekeeper" Nancy. The two of them are murdered and this story tries to find the truth about who killed them. Grace is imprisoned for the murders and different people try over the years to prove her innosence. It was a hard book to put down. It is being reserved for my friend, fairfaxgirl, who will enjoy it as much as I did.
As usual, Margaret Atwood did not disappoint! I love her variety of characters and the way she weaves their lives together. Atwood has the knack to confound and intrigue the reader, and with Alias Grace she does both. Loved it! Thanks, bikitten, for sharing!
