The book got my attention because I like police-related fiction and had read other Joseph Wambaugh novels. It took me quite awhile, though, to get into it and frankly, it was pretty disappointing. The plot moved very slowly and the science or pseudo-science twist was completely out of sync with the roughness of the characters. Glad to have had the opportunity through this Book Crossing idea to read it, but not my best choice I'm afraid. I'll make another entry when I release it soon. I will take it back to where I found it.
I forgot to mention in my comment just now that the book was contributed by "solittletime."
