Since this book seems so popular, I would like to turn this book into a book ray.

To help ensure that things run smoothly (or that is the plan anyhow), I've put together a few rough guidelines for this one. I know that some people take longer to read a book (busy, got a bunch of books to read before, work, etc)...

1. Please try to have this book read within 3 weeks. I know this isn't possible, but if you make an effort to try that is all I can ask.

2. Please journal when you receive the book.

3. When about halfway through, please contact the next person on the list for their mailing address.

4. Please journal again when you've read the book and it is on its way to the next reader.

5. Have fun! Reading is supposed to be fun!

6. To the last person in the ray: Please keep this book moving... RABCK it, give it to a friend, etc... just please keep it moving once you're done reading it. Thanks!

I've started this book this weekend and I've finished yesterday night ...or should I say today's early morning :)
The story itself is quite simple, there isn't much to say about it rather then it's a teenager romance. However I couldn't put it down until the very last line... what keep me going on was the curiosity about the unknown (about vampires habits and reactions...) And in my opinion that is what make this book a great success.
I'm quite fond of edward and Bella's romance. Ohhhh... can't wait to sink my teeths on the next book New Moon ;)

Thanks thegoaliegirl for your generosity :)

After I've read it, I lend it to my boyfriend: booknewbie. Hope he will came and JE after read it :)

16.12.2008 Sent to pazyryk. Hope you like it!!!

Journal Entry 5 by booknewbie on Friday, December 19, 2008

I got the book from my Bella after she proposed me to do a read-along partnership.
The most garanteed way to enjoy something is certainly to approach it holding low expectations. That's how I started reading "Twilight".
Thought the simplicity of the story, it contrasts with the feelings envolving both leading characters. The thing I loved the most about this Twilight #1 was the way the author managed to arrange all their meetings and Bella's thoughts, allowing the reader to intensely experience all the love building up. I guess that's why the satisfaction of finally reading their first kiss was so great. Despite that, there's more to this odd couple. Bella and Edward could be a metaphor for so many couples out there. As I ansiously reached the last pages, all I could ask myself was: "How can two persons from such different worlds be together?" I guess the answer lies ahead...

Thank you YellowBow ;)

Finished yesterday. A very good surprise this book and this author. For several days Bella and the Cullen family made my days. A teen age romance with a fantastic vampire touch. Now I'm very curious for the next books. Thank you very much for this great ray thegoaliegirl. Posted early today to anathema-device in Austria.

The book arrived safely in my mailbox today - thanks to everyone for including me in this bookray and for passing it on to me. I'm already very curious about the story. The book is thicker than I thought it would be, but then the print is quite large, and it looks as if I might be able to devour it in a couple of days (provided there's not more than the usual chaos at my workplace). ;)

Journal Entry 9 by anathema-device from Wien Bezirk 20 - Brigittenau, Wien Austria on Saturday, January 24, 2009
Wow, that must have been something very close to a personal reading record (maybe only topped by the last Harry Potter book). ;)
I started to read Twilight last night, only deciding to stop for sleep when I'd reached the middle, i.e. something around page 250. I'd gotten so hooked, I knew I had to finish it today just to find out how it ended (which I did). I must confess I'm positively surprised. :))
Maybe that's something to do with not having seen the movie (and now not ever intending to, not wanting to spoil "my" version of the story). Usually when I read a book, I let my fantasy play along with the character descriptions, making up faces for them as I go along. But this time, for the first time in years, the story made me do some character casting, and without much thinking I came up with the perfect Edward (complete with "wide smile" that can become an "impish grin", "black eyes", "muscular chest", beautiful hands...and that most alluring of voices - but I'm not telling!!).
Anyway, I really enjoyed the story much more than I'd expected to... and right now I'm reading the "sneak peek" at the sequel included after the last chapter, making up my mind whether I want to read on after all... I don't feel too good about leaving Bella and Edward after all this... And I'd like to meet the rest of the family again as well!

Tyring to send the book back on the road after the weekend.
Have a nice journey, little ballycumber - and I hope you'll meet lots of nice people out there!

Sent to mikime on January 27. :)

Wow, this book is way better than I gave it credit for! The story is full of suspence both for happy and scary moments, a real page-turner, and the characters are masterly depicted and feel so true, I couldn't help but feel for them and with them! It's definitely a teenagers' novel for teenagers of any age! No need to say I'm looking forward to reading the other novels of the series. Thanks for letting me join this ring!
The book is already on its way to Alectoness, since Martjxox has already read the book and asked to be skipped.

Journal Entry 12 by Alectoness from Geelong, Victoria Australia on Sunday, February 22, 2009
This book arrived just before Valentine’s Day, and provided a great reading accompaniment to a weekend away. While I can’t rave about it, as other readers have, I did find it easy to read and enjoyed contrasting Meyer’s vampire myths with those from other fiction. My main complaint is probably with the pacing, after what I felt was a very slow, thoughtful start it suddenly turned high-speed thriller from the baseball game onwards.

That said, I’m not done with Bella and Edward just yet, and will pick up New Moon to find out what happens next. In the meantime, I’ve PM’d lucy-lemon for her address, so hopefully this copy will be heading on to its next reader soon.

I got the book from the postoffice today, thanks Charlieboots76 for sending it! Looking forward to read the book.

Note, it has slight waterdamage on its pages but not any bad.

Journal Entry 17 by Niksu from Helsinki, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Monday, April 6, 2009
I finished the book today. With all the hype, I was expecting alot from this book and maybe because of that I think it's plain good story, not any excellent or I didn't get any WOW-feeling. It is a teen book, but still I like to think that teens can understand sarcasm and that kind of humor. Now it was too underlined in this book, like the author wanted to say "hint, get it get it, it's a joke"!??. And please do not shoot me but Bella... I was fighting against the feeling I don't like her...

Don't get me wrong. I liked the book even though my comments. I'm definitely eager to find out how the story continues. So my big thanks to thegoaliegirl for letting us read these books. So nice of you!

I've Pm'd the next in line last weekend but no answer yet. I send the book forward as soon I have the address.

It is fascinating that she can write 500 pages with such a slow and careful story. Brilliant.

G'day,

Just checking in to let you know I am safe and sound. I am having a nice visit with fairy-whispers before continuing on my travels. I hope you’re having as much fun as I am!

With Great Affection,

Your Book :-)

I knew this book was really popular amongst teens, but I saw a lot of forum discussions bagging it, so I didn't really have high expectations. Boy, was I surprised! I read this book in one day. I stayed awake until four in the morning because I could not put it down. And now I am desperate to get my hands on New Moon! Falling in love with a vampire - someone who could turn on you at any minute, and who's friends view you as food - adds new meaning to the phrase 'love knows no bounds'. Regardless, this isn't just a love story, but has it's share of thrills as well. I loved this book, and very highly recommend it!

Journal Entry 25 by seldombites from Mount Barker, South Australia Australia on Sunday, September 20, 2009
I actually finished this book a couple of days ago, but my daughter wanted to read it as well. I hope you don't mind! For the record, she thought it was great and is as keen to read New Moon as I am :-)

okay. so i tried. i really tried. i got 5 chapters in and i've given up. i just don't get it. she's not a bad writer or anything, but i just hated the characters. they were like stereotypes of stereotypes and that damn Edward was so arrogant i wanted to reach through the pages and slap his perfect white face til it got some colour in it.

but i tried!
