Present for my NSSS Sept 08.
Thanks to my NSS partner, been wanting the book ever since I read No Country for Old Men by the same author. Lovely chocolate, a notebook, postits and rubbers, as a teacher I know these'll come in handy!
BTW Mum recognised the view as she stayed in the YH in the postcard.
Started reading this in Lisbon, but when I got a third of the way through, there was a chunk missing. I emailed the publisher, and they have sent me a new book.
Hmm, what to say. This is a great writer, vivid book about how savage we as humans really are. I found it disturbing, yet compelling. I could really imagine the scene, which is not always the best when people are being scalped.

Christmas cheer! All I meant to do was dip into the memorable opening on arrival yesterday (thanks, soffitta) and I found myself up half the night re-reading. Is this The Great American Novel??
