I've previously read and enjoyed a few Mary Higgins Clark novels.

Another novel where the main character has had a traumatic past which comes back to haunt her. Why do these characters move back to old houses?

as the mystery evolves there are a number of red herrings. Pat finally learns the truth about her past history in the old family house and there are a number of consequences for others as the truth comes out.

I found a few similiarities between this book and others by MHC.
