Ironic & clever 'modern' fairy tale for all ages.
This was brought to today's BookCrossing meeting. I almost passed it up, but decided that since it's been decades since I've read any Thurber, this would be a good time to read another tale by him.
Dark, funny, smart little fable/fairy tale/adventure yarn with an extremely evil Duke, a Princess held captive, a Golux (whom an imaginative child would accept without question), and a prince.
This was written for young people, and Thurber is wise enough to understand that children, (as well as adults), like and can handle some scary themes. One may not want to read this to their very young child before bedtime, yet this well-crafted story would definitely be an entertaining afternoon read for young and old alike.
Thanks for bringing this to a BookCrossing meeting, Cherylllr!
