An amazing book; powerful and dark. Beautifully written, but unsettling and full of barbarism. This book really does turn any romantic illusion about the wild west on it's head. You reach the end of the book, which is almost anti-climactic and find yourself thinking what was the point. Bit that probably is the point... the inexplicable nature of the violence of those times.
Passed on to a friend who also likes Cormac McCarthy.
