Synopsis
Hoping to improve his rogue's reputation in order to get a bank loan for his business, Hank Mallone hires Maggie Toone to pose as his wife, but the deal soon changes from "strictly business" to "no holds barred."

Very lightweight but fun, if you like frothy romance that isn't taking itself too seriously. The usual Evanovich elements are there - daffy heroine who is accident prone, embarassing relatives, badly behaved animals, cake, handsome hero - but this is pre-Plum, and it shows. It didn't take long to read at all, and it was good light relief after a couple of heavier works. (NB my book reviews aren't done in reading order!)

Off to find a new reader.

A good Janet Evanovitch book, even if it is lightweight - an enjoyable, feel-good book to read in a couple of days. A good alternative when waiting for a new Stephanie Plum novel to be published! Bought from Green Metropolis after my search for other n0n-Stephanie Plum novels, as I have enjoyed most of Janet Evanovich's work. Will be placed back on Green Metropolis when my husband has read it, for the next person to enjoy.
