Another wacky tale from Holt, this one explaining why it always rains on English Bank Holidays and that's why we had such a great empire!! Bassically, ity's down to Dragons, chinese weather dragons to be exact, and when one of the absconds her responsibilities and takes up human form (all for love you understand!), she sparks off a series of events that could undermine the climate of the whole world - or at least make England look like a lake!!

Really funny, a great idea for a plot and fantastic characters. I loved the idea of the dragon's ability to make everyone around them misjudge distances - with hilarious consequences.

I really liked this...I hope you do too...

Okay, this book is officially awesome. I love Karen, and I love that the dragons can turn into not only people, but also goldfish. *giggles* It's just so absurd that it's perfect.

Tom Holt has this delightful way of pointing out how absurd things are, while still making them perfectly ordinary... and I love that. I always laugh when I'm reading his books, and this one was no exception. It was quite a delight (though I did feel a TEENY bit sorry for the weathermen *giggles*)

Thanks so much for passing this along. It's a truly marvelous book. I'm now sending it to kiri, who won it in a swap on BookObsessed.
