Ooh, so difficult to categorise - humour, yes, entertainment, definitely, literature and fiction, reference, travel, women's fiction, absolutely!
Isabel Losada writes, 'You know those people who always radiate cheerful optimism whatever is going on in their lives? Nauseating, aren't they? I want to become one of those.' So she sets off and tries all of those things that one reads about but never does: rebirthing, past lives therapy, anger release, a trip to a convent, tantric sex, insight seminars - not all at the same time, I hasten to add. Then she writes them up with great wit and charm. Why didn't people buy this instead of that Bridget Jones crap? With chapter titles like 'Angels, fairies, and bald northerners' and 'saying f*ck with style', this is both fascinating and funny. Moving in parts, too, and yet an easy read. Very honest too - this isn't phoney self-deprecation, it's very real.
In some ways a very simple, girly read which would normally turn me off totally, but this is one of my favourite books. It was given to me by my most appalling sister, as Isabel is a friend of hers; apparently Isabel is now chasing the Dalai Lama, or something like that. I wish her every success in whatever she does - I think she's justified her entire existence with this book alone.

Did I never journal it before? - sorry!

This was an entertaining and enlightening read, and is now going to be passed on for someone else's enjoyment.

Not amny at the meeting and it wasn't picked up so I grabbed it back - maybe I'll pass it on to Veganknitter or Linda (it's high time I inveigled Linda into bookcrossing0, or maybe for a themed release.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

As I'm going to the Earth Cafe, it occurred to me that this book might well find a good home with one of the diners.
