The second part of Roald Dahl's autobiography, this part deals with the years just after he finished school. A stint of working for Shell in Africa is followed by flying for the RAF during WWII, until he finally gets back to England after five years or so abroad.
As with the rest of the autobiography, it's a brilliant read! It opens a window into a bygone age and clearly shows that almost all the inspiration Roald Dahl has had for his stories comes out of his own life. And of course, the writing is
beautiful, and impressively easy!
Since we got a first edition of this book, this copy is available for other people to enjoy.
