Got at the London Convention this weekend. What a wonderful talk this author gave us and I had enjoyed her other book so much I had to buy this book, which she kindly signed for me.

At last I've found time to sit back on some wet winter days to enjoy this, and the wait was worth it!
It's a very moving love story, set on the Hebridean islands of North Uist and Skye, with people mentally and emotionally hurting from past experiences. The lifestyle, landscape and weather all play a large part in the story. I couldn't help feeling that although I've never been to the islands I know them well. I could smell the sea, hear the crashing waves and feel the cold wintry winds blowing down my collar. Then I realised how much it reminds me of parts of my old home, Nova Scotia, and the French islands of St Pierre and Miquelon, rocks sticking up out of the stormy North Atlantic, just south of Newfoundland.
As the blurb says on the cover this book is 'Lyrical, intriguing and haunting.'

This is in my Permanent Collection, but is going over to England for a visit with Nu-Knees. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did my friend. You deserves another ten stars for this one Linda.

Oh, thank you, bluenoser. What a lovely cheerful surprise on a wet and miserable Winter morning when I'm full of cold and feeling very sorry for myself! I thought it would get caught up in the Christmas post and wasn't expecting it so soon. Thank you so much!

I loved Star Gazing and am very much looking forward to reading this one as well.

That was beautiful: a beautiful story, beautifully told about some beautiful people living on a beautiful island ... What more can I say? Just thank you very much, bluenoser, for sharing your copy with me and I'll get it back to you asap.

I took this down to the post office this afternoon, so it's now on its way home again. I hope it travels swiftly and safely and is soon back where it belongs, in bluenoser's permanent collection. Thank you again for the generous loan, bn - and thank you, LindaG, for writing such a beautiful book.
