RELEASE NOTES:

Heading off as a RABCK to the USA

Journal Entry 3 by cbostler from Sandy, Utah USA on Saturday, April 19, 2008
As I read VIKING AT SCHOOL, I found many references to things that had happened to the main characters previously. It is the third book in a trilogy. I enjoyed reading it so much, I wanted to to also read the first two books, Viking in Trouble and There's a Viking in My Bed. I located copies at the Salt Lake City library, and am ready to devour more of the crazy adventures of Sigurd the Viking.

This book will make a delightful read-aloud for Oakcrest-Eagles. Thank you for the wonderful RABCK, Smurphie.

Journal Entry 4 by our-grandsons from Sandy, Utah USA on Saturday, April 19, 2008
Saturday night's the best night of the week for Grandma, Grandpa, and the three grandsons. That's because it's SLEEP-OVER night! Earlier this evening, the five of us took a half-hour ride to the library in Salt Lake City. On the way there, Grandma retold a story she'd read earlier today. It's about a real ancient viking named Sigurd who suddenly finds himself living in today's world. The book is called VIKING AT SCHOOL. We all laughed at Sigurd's wild adventures!

At the library, we went on a treasure hunt to find more books about Sigurd the Viking. We found two, and one of them is read aloud on CD. Lucky us!!!

When asked about VIKING AT SCHOOL, Super-Gabe said, "I liked when Siggy had to go to school to learn how to behave and instead he made everything a gigantic disaster! It's a COOL, funny book."

Four-year-old Danger-Boy said, "Grandpa has a viking hat, too. But it's just pretend. I get to wear it and I'll be like Siggy in the book. I'm going to be crazy and funny just like him. He calls his sword 'nose-picker.'"

School started for Mrs. Ostler and Oakcrest-Eagles on July 28th, 2008. We had three weeks of classwork, and then began a three-week vacation. Year-round school schedules are often strange! We read VIKING AT SCHOOL together as a class, and the children wrote responses that Mrs. Ostler will be entering this week.
Thank you Smurphie, for this WONDERFULLY fun book! It was certainly a hit with our class.

I've created a traveling bookbag for my school class. It has ten outstanding books that Smurphie has given us, a journal for the students to do some creative writing, a camera to take pictures for the journal, and a talking Smurf Doll.
The bookbag is titled SMURPHIE'S SATCHEL. This is one of the books included in the satchel.
