Journal Entry 3 by Mom-of-one from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Wednesday, April 2, 2003
Okay...I really hope someone finds and registers this book because I had a heck of a time with this release!!!! I decided to "set it free" at Moraine State Park, neat the entrance to the biking trail because I always take my 9 year old son and dogs up there to walk. Well....today was just bad from the get go! I got the two dogs into the car, which is a chore in itself because my one dog is a seven month old Giant Shnauzer puppy, already huge, very boisterous and not yet obiedence trained...and getting that guy into the car and settled is a job and a half! Anyhow, we set off, the dogs, my son and myself. The puppy decides to go ballistic in the car and ended up scratching up my son, who proceeds to scream like he's being murdered. We get the pup settled down and proceed to the park. We got out of the car...stupid me I allow my son to walk the Giant. Not two minutes later, the Giant pulls him down on his face in the concrete parking lot and takes off for the woods. My son stubbed his toe, scaped up his knees and hands pretty bad and hurt his chin. Of course, I could'nt stay there and comfort him because I had to chase the puppy, while dragging along the other dog (a Greyhound) who wanted to do nothing more than sniff other dog's droppings! I finally caught the pup, consoled my son (who assured me he DIDN"T want to go home because his injuries- what a little trooper that guy is!) and started looking for a place to leave the book. We walked down the trail a little because I thought it would be kind of interesting to leave it in a tree. I then discovered that I didn't have my car keys. I had dropped them while trying to catch the puppy. My son and I searched and searched to no avail. I was just about to call for someone to come out and bring my extra keys...and discovered that I had left them in them in the door of the car! Wew!!!! So anyhow, I ended up placing the book in the little wooden "thingy" that has trail maps in it. I really, really hope someone finds this one and registers it! If you're reading this right now, and you're the one who found the book...THANK YOU for making all my effort worth it!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoy this old classic!
