From the back cover:

Seeking refuge and anonymity in the cobbled streets of Monmartre, Yanne and her daughters, Rosette and Annie, live peacefully, if not happily, above their little chocolate shop. Nothing unusual marks them out; no red sachets hang by the door. The wind has stopped - at least for a while. Then into their lives blows Zozie de L'Alba, the lady with the lollipop shoes, and everything begins to change...

But this new friendship is not what it seems. Ruthless, devious and seductive, Zozie de l'Alba has plans of her own - plans that will shake their world to pieces. And with everything she loves at stake, Yanne must face a difficult choice: to flee, as she has done so many times before, or to confront her most dangerous enemy...

Herself.

I enjoyed reading this. Harris has used some interesting character development and themes to create an engrossing story as a sequal to her earlier 'Chocolat'. It wasn't perfect - the plot is too slow (450+ pages!) and sometimes becomes too fantastical, too cloying, too sweet. However, as book sequals go, it's a good one.

I would agree with Little Suz on this. Probably did't need to be quite this long! Good fun and interesting for a sequel as many sequels are just the same story rehashed. Not sure how the suggested use for the boat will work out! (I can't reveal any more as it will spoil it for the next reader.)
I have a secret purpose for this book.

Another one from my wishlist. Thank you very much Bookfrogster. I received this in a wonderful box full of goodies on Valentines Day from my NSSVS partner.
