I picked up this book on a recent trip to Egypt - many of the internet cafes in Dahab also have book exchanges.
It was an interesting enough story of buried treasure haunting a family through 6 generations. Then after 500 pages, it seemed like the author was just done writing so he ended it as quickly and easily as possible.
