I am a great admirer of Wills' writing. He is philosopher, historian, political scientist, theologian, Renaissance man. In this volume, he explores the nature of leadership, what causes a person to become a leader, what are the circumstances, how do the shape the actions of their followers. He looks at people such as FDR, Martha Graham, Cesare Borgia, Socrates -- what appears to be a motley crew, but they all had in common their ability to lead others.
This is an extra copy that I picked up specifically for release when I go to hear Mr. Wills speak at the Chicago Humanities Festival next month.
