The mother of all travel books! I''ve read it several times over the last 25 years and at last at the beginning of next year I''m going to follow in his footsteps. I hope to read the book with my reading group before I go so this copy will go to someone who wants to readalong. My own well thumbed copy is of course going with me. (I don''t register my own books - I don''t see the point really.)

Mixed feelings about the book. I enjoyed reading it but I got confused because if the enormous number of people that Chatwin describes. That's why I've got the feeling that I don't know a lot more about Patagonia after I've finished reading the book. And that's a bit of a disappointment.
