Rather wickedly silly! A Shel Silverstein book that is NOT for kids. (An example: "B is for baby. See the baby. The baby is fat. The baby is pink. The baby can cry. The baby can laugh. See the baby play. Play, baby, play. Pretty, pretty baby. Mommy loves the baby more than she loves you.")

A cynical friend gave this book to my husband and me when I was pregnant with our first child. I will probably keep it in my private collection, but I am registering it because I am loaning it out to bookcrossers. It wants to see a bit of the world!

This book is traveling to Raftqueen, then on to another bookcrosser, then back to me. For now, I think I want to keep it, for sentimental reasons, but I am happy to loan it out to others. And surely it is happy to get out into the world -and far away from our attic!

Ok. I finished the book... it was ok. A very fast read. Not much of it made sense... could seriously traumatise a child!! ha ha I think I better get this book back out of my house as quick as possible before one the kids finds it! Passing it on to the1stof8.

This isn't the Shel Silverstein I know ... LOL! This is definitely a book you don't want your children to get ahold of - for example,
the "Free Pony" coupon, instructions on how to make your own Voodoo Dolly Pin Cushion (using your teacher's hair) or Uncle Shelby's own version of Hop Scotch. I have to say this book made me laugh out loud. Thanks for sharing it rainbowbabe.

Just wanted to indicate that this book IS home (and has been for quite awhile - I didn't realize I neglected to journal it!)

I will definitely keep this book, because if I ever have grandkids, I'll be sure to loan it to my own kids - definite sentimental value!
