From Amazon:
Colin Ashby, a political high-flier, is arrested for the murder of a young woman. The salacious news is brought to his wife Beth not by him, but by Laurie Forbes, a young journalist. As the mystery of her husband’s predicament unfolds, both women face terrifying questions.Beth, in agony, must guess what is going through her husband’s mind. Is he guilty? As scandalous revelations concerning Colin emerge, her world is shattered. Laurie devotes herself to the story, risking her job at a national newspaper and, though at first she is unaware of it, her own safety. It becomes clear that the powerful players involved will stop at nothing to obtain her information and throw her off the scent. The treacherous truth is emerging, and Laurie realises that she must work with her arch rival Elliot Russell, confronting in the process a ghost from her own past, to offer Beth salvation. Beth, though, is beginning a new life. One which seems marked for disaster. She throws herself into an underworld of glamorous excess, sensual pleasures and influential men.

I passed this book, which was sitting alone on a chair, several times before I picked it up! I was intrigued by the idea of a travelling book and wanted to help it on its journey. Sadly, although the blurb sounded promising, I couldn't really get into it, not 'spellbinding' at all for me, but hopefully the next reader will feel differently. The book has already crossed a border - from Oxfordshire into Gloucestershire! Now it is going to sit in the Coffee Room at The Castle, Cirencester College's town centre site. I will be able to keep an eye on it, and see how long before it travels on. Bon Voyage 'Silent Truths'!
