Mr. Midshipman Hornblower
2 journalers for this copy...
Found and snatched up immediately at a library used book sale a year or so ago. I bought another copy for my permanent collection but couldn't part with this copy because it's Hornblower!
Since my BC birthday buddy has it on her wish list, I decided that was as good a reason as any to part with this lovely book.
1793- A stirring novel of a gallant young officer's first command when England fought to rule the seas.

Received for my birthday from my Birthday Buddy! Thank You.
I'm going to read on our summer vacation....my daughter, 6 grandchildren and I always read 'ocean' related books while we camp on islands in the Pacific off the shores of Washington State. We have gone to the same area and almost the same spots for the last ten or eleven years. My husband and I went by ourselves for many years before that. We loll in the sun and sand - and read, watch whales, crab, bob around in the boat - and read. We all kayak, the men fish for salmon, the children shrimp, and 'we' turn bronze and read. (I have started spending time painting and sketching with the granddaughters along with reading....) The life is not related to an officers life but it lends us to contemplation and imagination! Our reading list is primarily shared and duplicated. We often measure summers by the year we read "...".
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to read this classic!
