Fascinating book about a 17-year old mystery, concerning a "Jane Doe" whose naked body was found in a field, during a blizzard. The people of the town (Small Plains) christened her the "Virgin of Small Plains". The day after her discovery, Mitch, one of the local teens left town, and his parents blamed it on how close he was getting to his girlfriend.
Nobody would talk about what happened that day, and when Mitch finally returned, his girlfriend, Abby decided to find out what really happened to make him leave. She was already trying to find out the identity of the "Virgin", and was being stone-walled.
This was a real "page-turner", which I hated to have to put aside to do other things. I think you'll feel the same way.
