To be released when I've finished it. And I have. Clarke's usual competence as regards plot and ideas, both scientific and political; but a bit lacking in characterisation though he tries for this. Still worth reading even though it is more than fifty years old and so much has changed. Interesting that the book is almost a vindication of the Mutually Assured Destruction strategy of the Cold War. Please heaven any future war of the worlds leads to a genuine rapprochement and cooperation as this does - and indeed the current wars within our world!
