The Back of the Book

Why do we fall in love with the people we do?

Why do we visit our mistakes on our children?

What makes life truly beautiful?

Set in New England mainly and London partly, On Beauty concerns a pair of feuding families - the Belseys and the Kippses - and a clutch of doomed affairs. It puts low morals among high ideals and asks some searching questions about what life does to love. For the Belseys and the Kippses, the confsuions - both personal and political - of our uncertain age area bout to be brought close to home: right to the heart of the family.

The book has just arrived here. Thank you very much for this RABCK! :o) I've been ill recently and am now recovering from surgery so it was a perfect time for this book to arrive; it's really cheered me up to get a parcel in the post. I've just opened it and read the first few pages and am very tempted to keep on reading. I do have other books that I really should read first but I don't know how long I'll be able to resist this one for!

I'll journal it again when I've read it. Thanks again for being so kind as to let me have this book. :o)

PS. I've just realised that you only posted this yesterday by 2nd class post so it's got here in super-quick time!!

I'm no longer bookcrossing but I'm making a concerted effort to read, journal and release all the books that have come my way through other bookcrossers.

I picked this novel off my shelves a week ago and have very much enjoyed reading it over the past few days. It was a fascinating insight into other people's lives and what makes people tick. It was a great novel.

I'll be releasing this novel soon, either to a charity shop that is happy to sell books with BC labels in or onto a friend who always passes books on after she's read them.

Released 13 yrs ago (6/25/2010 UTC) at Eden Valley Hospice - Book Shop in Carlisle, Cumbria United Kingdom

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I'll be releasing this book at either the Eden Valley Hospice charity book shop or the Cancer Research shop in Carlisle city centre tomorrow morning. I hope it finds a reader who enjoys it as much as I did.
