I wish I could give this book a higher score I enjoyed it so much. Poor little Lily, missing a mother's love and looking for an answer to something which had been hidden from her all her life. Every word of the book was a joy to read and I loved every character in it, especially Rosaleen the big, fat, black momma. I could have hugged her.
It was a very moving story, sometimes sad and sometimes very funny. Quite different from The Mermaid Chair. Putting it to one side to decide how to let it continue its journey - maybe a ring or a ray?

Great book. I started it in Cavtat, Croatia just before leaving and read it on the flight back to Frankfurt & then finished it on the long flight to Singapore. The story was very moving & I am very glad to have read the story. Thanks for sharing it with me madmadge.
