The experiment is a bookcrossing twist on the theory of Six Degrees of Separation: http://backissues.worldlink.co.uk/articles/250100180310/22.htm.
The volume you're holding is a Polish edition of The Stone Arrow, a novel I wrote in 1976-7. I don't have any Polish friends who don't have a copy, and it seems a shame to let this book continue to moulder in my loft.
I could send it to a bookcrosser in Poland, but that seems a bit lame. Or I could just leave it somewhere and hope against hope that a Polish reader finds it. As I live in southern England, this would be a very long shot.
Instead I am attempting to combine the bookcrossing concept with the Six Degrees theory. If you know, or know of, anyone who speaks Polish, please give this book to him/her. If you don't know such a person, please release the book again physically NEARER TO POLAND. The book began its odyssey in Farnham, Surrey, so should generally head in a south-easterly direction.
Once the book is in the hands of a Polish reader, please send or take it to Poland. Once it's in Poland, please send or take it to Warsaw. Once it's in Warsaw, please take it to the offices of the publishers and hand it to the receptionist. The following note will then take effect:

I have not heard from you for a very long time. Are any royalties due to me on this title?

I've released three others with the same title, and four more of another title. The object is to see how many steps it takes for me to dun the publishers while saving a postage stamp!
