It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.Born on the Fourth of July

From the publisher per Barnes and Noble:
"This New York Times bestseller (more than one million copies sold) details the author's life story (portrayed by Tom Cruise in the Oliver Stone film version)--from a patriotic soldier in Vietnam, to his severe battlefield injury, to his role as the country's most outspoken anti-Vietnam War advocate, spreading his message from his wheelchair."

I enjoyed reading what was here but, overall, I didn't feel there was enough depth to this story. It left me wanting much more detail in regards to Kovic's thoughts and experiences.
Recieved this book through paperbackswap.com. It was required reading for my American History class (since 1865) at Western Washington University. I love this book. It has the same emotional impact as All Quiet on the Western Front and Johnny Got His Gun, but with the added intensity of being Kovic's story in his own words. I definately recommend it. I may pass it on after my final exam in the spirit of book crossing and paper back swap, but I also may hang on to it for awhile and pass it around to family and friends.
