What begins as a straightforward whodunnit becomes a fascinating exploration of the mythology and melancholy of northern snow-folk. Set amongst immigrants from Greenland (Greenlanders?) in Denmark, it’s a beautifully written, and very different take on the usual outsider’s story. Perfect for a very cold day. Shame the ending’s a bit of a disappointment though.
