Last Light
The incendiary new thriller from the bestselling author of Remote Control,Crisis Four and Firewall.
The Stone Monkey
The new book boosts the storytelling acumen onto a new level as Rhyme and Amelia Sachs take on the violent world of Chinese organised crime. Recruited to aid the US government in a highly difficult (and dangerous) task, Rhyme and Amelia succeed in tracking down a cargo ship carrying a group of illegal immigrants along with the sinister human smuggler and killer known as Youling--the Ghost. But the capture of the Ghost goes pear-shaped, and Rhyme and Amelia are launched into a frantic race against time; they must stop the Ghost before he can track down and destroy the surviving families who have gone missing in the cloistered and secretive world of New York City's Chinese community. As 48 hours anxiously tick by, the malevolent criminal ruthlessly hunts the families while his pursuers (aided by a policeman from mainland China) struggle to prevent the carnage. Amelia, meanwhile, has forged a connection with one of the immigrants that may have considerable consequences for t! he relationship with her partner and lover, Lincoln Rhyme.
Dying To Tell
Set in Glastonbury, Goddard's deliciously convoluted mystery Dying to Tell introduces us to Lance Bradley, leading an uneventful, indolent life in Somerset until he receives a plea for help from the sister of an old friend. The friend, Rupert Alder, has terminated the allowances to his feckless siblings, and Bradley agrees to track Rupert down to find the reason for his actions. But in London, Bradley finds that Alder has disappeared, and his employers (a prestigious shipping company) believe him to be the perpetrator of a major fraud. An American by the name of Townley has, it seems, hired a private eye to find Rupert, only to be neutralised by powerful interests. And there's the Japanese businessman who claims Rupert has stolen an important document... As Bradley gets closer to the centre of an arcane mystery, he finds that the year 1963 (in which Bradley was born) holds the key to a series of bizarre puzzles.
Fallen Angel
The death of his estranged father draws Hollywood film executive Terry McQuinn back to the coastal Maine town of his roots and gives him a chance to come to terms with events of the past and rediscover the mysteries of family and love.
