Vanuit een luxueus kantoor op de bovenste verdieping van een wolkenkrabber regeert de mooie Joan Kinkade met ijzeren hand haar succesvolle adviesbureau, een verantwoordelijke positie die haar vaak tot lang na kantooruren aan haar bureau gekluisterd houdt. Soms zelfs tot ver na middernacht, wanneer het immense, donkere gebouw op een enkeling na verlaten is.
